OLIVIA'S FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE
Story
Hi everyone 
Welcome to my fundraising page! I would first and foremost like to thank everyone who is supporting me during this venture. Each and every little contribution helps and your support means the world to me!
In November I will be travelling with Save the Children and other volunteers to Shree Udaya Lower Secondary School, located in the Nawalparasi district of Nepal. The school is currently in a very poor condition; unsafe roofing and broken windows, lack of clean drinking water, inadequate toilets, uncomfortable furniture and insufficient teaching resources. Save the Children's project, in which I am participating, aims to improve the school's infrastructure, encourage out of school children to enrol in school, improve the children's retention rate, adopt child centred teaching and learning, train all of the teachers and educate the community about child rights issues. The project will adopt a community participation model to encourage its success.
My mission is to raise $4000 which will go directly towards this project. During my visit to the school, I will assist in the building and reconstruction of the school and meet the children, families and teachers of the school and the Nawalparasi community. I will be shown how the money has helped and will continue to help by allowing the children access to quality education and an inviting schooling environment. The money will go directly towards the reconstruction of the school building, new furniture, instalment of a clean water drinking system, teaching resources, employment of local builders and contractors, school material for the students and other project related needs.
I have until the beginning of 2015 to raise this money and I will come back with plenty of photos to further promote this incredible cause!
